What this site publishes
Each course page sets out who says a course exists, where each source places it, when each source record was last updated and under which licence that record is republished. Country hubs, US state hubs, coverage reports and field guides are assembled from the same qualified set, so a figure quoted in a report can be traced back to the course pages behind it.
The current edition covers 4,250 course identities across 34 countries. A country or US state hub is only built where at least 3 qualified courses exist, which is why some countries in the set have no hub of their own.
Which data sources are used
Course identity and location evidence comes from four open registries. OpenGolfAPI and OpenStreetMap are published under ODbL 1.0, GeoNames under CC BY 4.0, and Wikidata under CC0. A course page is created only when two of those sources independently agree on the normalised course name and place the course within 0.001 degrees on each axis.
Three further sources support optional context on qualified pages and never make a course eligible on their own. Overture Maps Places supplies attributed address, contact and nearby hospitality context. UK public-transport access points come from NaPTAN under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Forecasts on United States course pages are fetched on request from the public-domain National Weather Service API. Approved Environment Agency imports add bounded station proximity and an England-wide current-flood snapshot without turning either into a course-condition claim. Attribution, licence names and links to the underlying source records stay visible. The method and licences page records the authoritative terms, reuse permissions and modification notices; the methodology sets out the matching and publication gates.
What this site does not do
Golf Golf Baby does not sell or broker tee times, take payment for ranking or inclusion, host user reviews, or ask visitors to create an account. A mapped course is evidence that a course has been recorded by two independent sources; it is not proof of current opening, visitor access, condition, green fees or availability. Those checks belong with the course itself.
Who operates it
Golf Golf Baby is operated by 37x Limited, a Guernsey Non Cellular Company, company number CMP76157, incorporated 18 July 2025, with its registered office at Les Echelons Court, Les Echelons, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 1AR. It is one of the data-led sites in the 37X Ventures portfolio.
Correcting a record
Strict source matching can still carry an outdated or disputed fact through to a page. Corrections are reviewed against both serving sources and primary evidence, and are never prioritised for payment. The corrections page explains what to send.
